Our website continues to be a good source for information about the workdays. Thank you so much for your interest in the work of University HOPE, as together we build homes for families in need. Construction occurs most Saturdays. Updated: Thursday, 1/31/08 Dear University HOPE volunteers, Hello! Each week, progress continues to be made on the University HOPE house. Rain was in the forecast all last week, but Saturday was dry after all and we were able to begin sheathing (adding plywood to) the roof. Again, roof work will be our focus for this Saturday, February 2. Construction on this house will continue throughout the semester. We are planning to have the home completed in time for the new homeowners to move in over the summer. The majority of our work takes place every Saturday, beginning at 8:00 am. Please remember, our work would not be possible without the support and involvement of Fresno State students, faculty, and staff. Our primary goal each year is to provide an affordable home for a family, but we also want the volunteer opportunities we provide to serve as learning experiences for our volunteers. Prior experience in construction is not necessary. The current University HOPE work site is located at 1385 4th St., in Clovis (on the northwest corner of the 4th St./Sunnyside Ave. intersection). Directions are as follows:
